The apostille convention or simply endorsement, is a simplified method or legalization of documents in order to verify the authenticity in the international arena. Physically consists of a sheet that is added (attached to reverse or on an additional page) documents the competent authority stamp on a copy of the public document. It was introduced as an alternative method to legalization for the Hague Convention
dated October 5, 1961.
In some countries, like Spain, the apostille can be obtained electronically (e-app), replacing the handwritten signature of public documents annotated by a valid certificate or electronic signature in accordance with international standards. |
